Alternative Instruction Teachers 24-2524-25 HINS

The Baldwinsville Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for Alternative Instruction Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year.  Interviews will occur monthly commencing in August through mid-May.  The rate of pay for Home Instructors is $45.00 per hour.  Alternative Instruction is provided to students with either medical restrictions or for suspended students which require instruction outside of the school setting which is of an equivalent nature to that provided in the student's regularly scheduled classes.  Alternative Instructors work closely with school counselors and teachers of record during the period of alternative instruction

All applicants are required to provide college transcripts and proof of teaching certification(s).  Fingerprint clearance will be required if hired.

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, a minimum of 10 hours of instructional time per week for elementary (PK-6) at the elementary level and fifteen hours per week at the secondary (Grs. 7-12) level is required.

The Baldwinsville Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for per diem substitute teaching placements for the current school year.  Interviews will occur monthly.  The negotiated pay rates for substitute teachers is as follows:

Certified Teacher with 7 years continuous/active service with the District, retired teachers from Baldwinsville or retired teacher from another NYS Public School District - $190 per day.

Newly hired certified teaching staff:  1-20 days of service $151 per day; 20.5-39.5 days of service $171 per day; 40 or more days of service $185 per day. 

Non-Certified NYSED candidates working toward certification:  $130 per day. 

Those candidates who hold a bachelor's degree can apply.

The Baldwinsville Central School District is located about 10 miles northwest of Syracuse, New York.  The district is the third largest suburban public school system in Onondaga County covering approximately 75 square miles and servicing a little over 5,500 students in eight buildings.  The district has five elementary buildings (grades K-5), one middle school (grades 6-7), one junior high school (grades 8-9) and one high school (grades 10-12).  About 900 instructional and support staff work for the district.  A wide range of programs and services are offered including Advance Placement courses, college level courses, cutting-edge technology, a widely respected special education program and numerous extra curricular activities.

The Baldwinsville Central School District continually seeks qualified candidates for Substitute Teaching Assistant placements throughout the school year.  Interviews occur monthly and are held virtually through Googlemeet.

The starting rate of pay for certified substitute teaching assistants is $19.50 per hour; uncertified substitute teaching assistants is $18.50 per hour.  

Applicants must also prove NYS Education Department fingerprint clearance and require Board of Education approval prior to commencing employment.
