Anticipated full-time, probationary assignments as a Certified Teaching Assistant are available at various UPK-12 school buildings throughout the Baldwinsville Central School District. Applicants must hold NYS certification as a Teaching Assistant (Level 1, 2, or 3) OR NYS certification in any Teaching certification areas.
Teaching assistants may work with individual students, groups of students and/or students in co-teaching classrooms. Teaching Assistants work in tandem with the classroom teacher(s) to provide support for educational services and assist students with specific health-related activities as appropriate. When working with students, employees may be required to perform or assist with a student's personal hygiene, feeding and use of assistive devices (e.g. wheelchairs).
Salary is per the Bargaining Agreement between the Support Professionals and the District. The salary for the 26.27 school year: $33,000; Sept.-June (7.25 hours per day). Salary increases through 2023 are $4,000 through 2028 and $3,000 through 2030. NYS Teachers' Retirement System Pension, District Health, Vision, Prescription and Dental benefits (paid at 85% by the district, employee pays 15%, 12 months), sick, personal, family illness, bereavement leave time, continuous education and other benefits provided.
