The work involves responsibility for assisting the Assistant School Transportation Director in coordinating and directing the actions of school bus drivers and school bus attendants. 

Assists in scheduling all school bus runs; calls substitute drivers as needed, and sees that all buses are dispatched.

Assists in handling routing and bus stop problems, complaints, and new children within the district.

Confers with parents and principals on behavior problems.

May handle the recording and submission of drivers' time cards and their payroll.

May check periodically all buses for compliance with safety laws.

Assists in the orientation and training of new bus drivers.

Reevaluates driving habits of veteran bus drivers.

Assists the Assistant School Transportation Director in a variety of areas where assigned.

May drive a school bus when required.

School Bus Driver 2024-25 (Part-time & Substitute)202425 Sub Driver

Operation of a school bus in transporting students to and from school and school district functions.  The employee is charged with the safety of the children upon entry to the vehicle and during their transport.  The employee may be accompanied by a School Bus Attendant.  It is the employee's responsibility to check the vehicle for safety purposes prior to making trips.  A supervisor assigns bus routes and periodically evaluates the employee's driving skills and knowledge of State laws appicable to transporting students.  Does related work as required.

Free comprehensive training is provide to obtain CDL and qualify for employment.

$29.00 per hour
School Bus Attendant 2024-25 (Part-time & Substitute)2024 25 Sub Attendant

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, maintaining order on the School Bus and to assist students as needed.  Ability to interact in a professional manner with staff, students, and families.  Maintain confidentiality with staff, students, and family information.  Operate in a respectful manner.  Other duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

$20.00 per hour
